Volunteer in a Nursery Programme. We are a non profit organization helping economically challenged children in western Kenya, to help them realize their right to an education. We are working with a team of overseas and local volunteers. We have a holistic approach to supporting the wangusu community and offer assistance in education and economic development primarily, but we have also recently started a nursery programme. We aim to run educational workshops with parents, and are keen to find volunteers who have a background in education for young children.Any background in child psychology or social work would also be invaluable, as we want to talk to the parents about child development and improve their understanding of what young children need. These children are young, so it is possible for volunteers to come who have a more limited English/Kiswahili ability as they will still be able to play with children and contribute to the natural remedies for acne lesson planning. However, for the training sessions we will need someone who is a relatively a fluent English speaker, previous experience in working with children in developing and developed countries as they would be an asset, so that they are able to put across the relevant information and also answer questions that the parents or guardians have.LONG TERM VOLUNTEER TEACHERVolunteer English teacher: Some KVCDP partner projects require an all month commitment.
